My perspective is that of a parent whose son was at The Foundary for a short time. His serious mental illness did not allow him to stay, however I can say that the Foundary tried everything they could and eventually did right by all of us and our family. I sincerely wish them well, and they will do well because they have they have the residents’ best interest at heart - which is recovery, from addiction and/or mental illness.

Such a truly lovely center. They helped my best friend so much. The staff was so obviously caring and I dont know where he'd be without them

While I have not been a participant at The Foundry, through my work I have toured all of the facilities extensively. I was very impressed with the incredible range of activities their residential program offers. It's very rare to find equine therapy, NAD cellular detox, and a wellness program that is seemingly endless in activities (yoga, hiking, gardening, community service, resume building, job searching). I was also impressed with the 22 hours of therapy that are provided each week - the industry standard is 12. Steamboat is a gorgeous place to boot, the scenery is a great place to collect thoughts and strength without the temptation of a large city.

As a regular visitor to share music and spiritual inspiration for residents during their healing transition at The Foundry, I find not just the location (which is breathtaking), staff (warm and kind) or building/housing (new, clean and inviting) to be worthy someone seeking rehabilitation; but the residents themselves. Each time I find a new crew of individuals ranging in age from late teens to late fifties, all there with different vices but for the same goal: to heal and find tools to rebuild their lives. While I tell everyone, "I hope to see you on the outside next time - not here," there's a small part of me that always looks for a familiar face (just in case...). We all have a path, some just need a team to walk with us for the really tough parts. Why not choose a place that provides just that?
